About Ryan
Ryan Bryce Johnson, tenor, is a dynamic and versatile performer with experiences spanning opera and music theatre. He most recently made his debut at The Glimmerglass Festival as the Grand Inquistor and Governor in Bernstein’s masterpiece Candide. In 2024, Ryan will be making his debut at The Santa Fe Opera as Giuseppe in Verdi's La Traviata and Faninal's Major-Domo in Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. In the fall, he will be making his debut as Lt. Joseph Cable in Dayton Opera's production of South Pacific. Ryan has enjoyed success in various singing competitions along with his performances. Most recently, Ryan won First prize in the 2023 Lotte Lenya Competition. Additionally, he has been a finalist for the George London Foundation Competition and a district winner for the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions.
